This study aimed to examine the impact of strategic planning on hospital staff's job satisfaction. Methods: This participatory action research was carried out in a selected private hospital in Isfahan/ Iran during 2012-2014. The hospital strategic plan, with a goal for improving job satisfaction was designed and implemented. Employees’ job satisfaction was measured before and after implementing the strategic plan through 9-item Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. Data were analyzed through SPSS22 software package. Results: The rate of subjects' job satisfaction in 2012 was approximately 58.6%. The highest satisfaction rate was found for the nature of job and job and coworkers' needs and the lowest was obtained for salary, job promotion, work conditions and job security. Employees’ job satisfaction increased to 64.7% in 2014 (10.1% improvement). Employees’ tendency for job quit decreased by 61.4% (from 42.2% in 2012 to 16.3% in 2014). Strategic plan had the most impact on dimensions of job promotion, management and supervision, coworkers and salary.  Conclusion: Adequate designing and implementation of a strategic plan can improve job satisfaction of employees and reduces their tendency for job quit.   Keywords: Strategic planning, Employees, Job satisfaction, Hospital, Case study   Citation: Mosadeghrad AM, Ebneshahidi A, Abdolmohammadi N. The aim of this study was auditing of Tabriz general dentistry offices based on licensure standards. Methods: This descriptive- analytical study was done in 197 general dentistry offices in Tabriz city selected randomly. The required data were gathered using a researcher-made checklist with 75 questions in 7 main dimensions including physical environment, medical equipment, nonmedical equipment, human resources, medical records and informatics, policy consideration, and hygiene and infection control. Data analysis was done using t-test, ANOVA and Tukey statistical tests and through SPSS19 software package. Results: The total rate of compliance with licensure standards in Tabriz dentistry offices was 78.5%. The highest and lowest rates of compliance were respectively in dimensions of “medical records” (92.3%) and “non-medical equipment” (66.4%). There was significant relationship between “job experience of dentists” and standards compliance score in “law and policy consideration” and “hygiene and infection control” dimensions; so that, more job experience was associated with higher compliance score in these dimensions.    Conclusion: Despite acceptable status of the assessed dentistry offices in regard to licensure requirements, there are still shortcomings in some dimensions. No doubt, the obtained results could help authorities to improve the status of dentistry offices and increase community satisfaction.   Keywords: Licensure, Audit, office, General dentists.   ŸCitation: Tabrizi SJ, Gharibi F, Kamkari M. Organizational justice shows the perception of fairness and equality in the workplace by staff and affects their behavior. This study examines the relationship between organizational justice perception and self-efficacy in employees of a selected hospital of Tabriz/ Iran. Methods: This was a cross-sectional descriptive- analytic study performed on 156 employees of one of the selected hospitals of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Chen, Gully & Eden Self-efficacy questionnaire and Rego and Cunha organizational justice questionnaire were used as data collection tools. Data analysis was done through SPSS23 and using analytic statistical tests such as Spearman correlation, Chi-Square and regression. Results: There was a significant positive relationship between dimensions of organizational justice and self- efficacy (P<0.01). Also, based on the results of regression analysis, information justice was a stronger predictor of self- efficacy. Eventually, the elements of procedural, interactions and information justice could predict 14% of variations of self- efficacy. Conclusion: Since dimensions of organizational justice affect employees' self- efficacy, hospital managers should find appropriate strategies for improving organizational justice in order to increase self- efficacy and ultimately the performance of their employees.   Keywords: Distributive justice, Procedural Justice, Interactional Justice, Informational Justice, Self efficacy, Staff, Educational Hospital   Citation: Janati A, Chegini Z, Gholizadeh M, Naseri N, Ahmadi Z. If hospitals do not pay attention to this issue, it is probable that they do not receive the costs that they have paid even for the provided services. Methods: In this retrospective descriptive study conducted in one of the armed forces hospitals in Tehran in 2015, 6717 medical files belonged to the admitted cases were investigated. The list of reported deductions for admitted cases was prepared using a self-made form that included deduction topics (surgery, anesthesia, services, imaging, laboratory, supplies and equipment, beds, visit and counseling). Results: The highest rate of deduction was due to the additional request for surgery and anesthesia (30% of total deduction). The highest rates of return were respectively related to request lower than tariff rate (78%) and absence of recording services related to surgical activities (17%) and operating room and anesthesia (5%). After identifying these cases, a total of 3270 million Rial was returned to the financial resources of hospital.    Conclusion: Some strategies for reducing deductions are transferring affairs related to the registration and identification of outpatient services to the authorities of the units, establishing a system for collecting the experience of personnel and transferring them to the insurance organizations, creating a system for receiving the suggestions and ideas of employees, establishing interactions with the authorities of the contracting  insurance companies, having physicians to record  correct codes of surgery and services as well as establishing deduction committees.   Keywords: Deduction, Insurance, Armed Forces, Hospital   Citation: Vali-pour N, Mosavi-nejad SM, Meshkani Z. The main purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between organizational health and perception of organizational politics in educational hospitals of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was performed on 371 staff members of educational hospitals in Qazvin/ Iran selected through simple stratified sampling method. Organizational Health Questionnaire adapted from Parsons Pattern and Kachmr and Carlson’s (1997) Perceptions of Organizational Politics Scale were used for data collecting. Data analysis was done through SPSS20 and using Chi-square, independent t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multivariate regression analysis. Results: In the studied hospitals, organizational health from the perspective of employees was in high and very high levels in 76.8% of cases and organizational politics was high in 8.9% cases. There was a significant inverse relationship between organizational politics and organizational health; that is, reduction of organizational politics was significantly associated with organizational health increase (P=0.069). Conclusion: It is necessary to pay special attention to health and organizational politics in hospitals and to create an environment with more efficient organizational relationships among staff. It is also recommended to define and determine the levels of organization clearly and to take the necessary measures to improve the organizational climate.   Keywords: Perceptions of Organizational Politics, Organizational Health, Educational Hospital, Staff   Citation: Jafarzadeh D, Mohebbifar R, Shishechi R, Bahreini R. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of alexithymia and cognitive failure with spiritual health in male students of Ardabil Payam-e Noor University. Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was performed on 268 male students of Ardabil Payam-e Noor University selected through multistage multi-cluster random sampling. Data collection tools included questionnaires of alexithymia (20 items), cognitive failure (25 items), and spiritual well-being (20 questions). Data were entered into SPSS version 23 and analyzed using inferential statistics tests, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression tests. Results: There was no statistically significant relationship between demographic variables (age, educational level and field, occupation and marital status) and spiritual health among male students. However, alexithymia and cognitive failure showed significant statistical relationships with spiritual well-being. According to multiple regression results, alexithymia and cognitive failure have the potential for predicting spiritual well-being in male students (P <0.05).
